Our Philosophy
At Altadena Child Care Center & Preschool,
we are a family-oriented program made
up of dedicated educators who have strong roots in the foundations of
Early Childhood Education.
Our philosophy is guided by a commitment to nurturing the learning, growth, and positive outcomes of young children and supporting the families we serve.
We believe the arts are a powerful pathway to learning and intentionally incorporate visual arts, music, dramatic play, storytelling, movement, and creative exploration throughout each child’s day to foster imagination, confidence, communication, and critical thinking.
We treat all children with love, respect, and dignity,
and we strive to establish trusting relationships with families beginning at the very first point of arrival.
Maintaining honest, open, and fair communication between families and staff is essential to the success of each child in our care.
We believe that children are a family’s most valuable asset.
Therefore, we take the time to ensure that every child in our program receives the highest quality of care, tailored to their developmental needs. Parents are encouraged to be active partners in their child’s learning process.
We maintain daily logs and ongoing communication, allowing families to see how their child’s day went and how they are adjusting to the center.
Our Arts Philosophy
At ACCP, we view the arts as an essential part of early childhood education—not as a separate subject, but as a way children learn. Through painting, music, dramatic play, storytelling, creative writing, movement, and hands-on design experiences, children build confidence, strengthen communication skills, develop problem-solving abilities, and express themselves in meaningful ways.
